 Surface Design Pattern

I was inspired my organic and moroccan rugs to create my surface design pattern. My final surface design measured to achieve the required size of 18" x 36". I glued smaller pieces of fabric together of leather and hand-dyed textiles on a recycled bed sheet. I enjoy the use of different materials to create texture. The leather scraps I had were re-used from a pervious at home project. I repeated 4 squares of indigo dyed fabric touching edges to create a square. On either sides I put a leather circle and in between the next square pattern. I added a pop of yellow, marigold fabric inside of the squares. I felt as though I needed more texture so I individually tied jute rope to the end of both sides to create tassels.

 Community Engaged Sustainability Project Textile Based Earrings Flagler College Instagram post, I made on Adobe Illustrator, promoting my booth to be held on the 21 and 26th. In process, choosing what beads to use, I alternated between using gold and silver hardware to be fitting to personal choice of metal type. I cut strips of the various hand-dyed fabric and looped it onto the o-ring, then attached the bead and earrings. I went though trial and error trying to figure out the best way to tie the fabric on and make it durable, while still having a pretty aesthetic. The finished hand-dyed, natural textiles I used for the fabric of my earrings.  Indigo dyed fabric with various beads and stones and hardware. On display at my booth. Final product of my handmade, sustainable, hand-dyed textile earrings on display at the table, laid on linen cloth. Personal Project

 Personal P roject  I created an abstract and minimal combination of plaster, textiles, and acrylic paint on canvas. The construction is piecing, constructing, and stitching on unstretched canvas surface. The exploration of how these interact to create ​​solidarity. I am inspired by mid-century modern with fluid, organic geometric shapes combined with line-work. The multiple layers of modern design, texture, color, in a mix of materials create a dynamic composition. Final Outcome Title:  untitled Unstretched canvas, acrylic paint, and felt 3ft x 2.5   in-process image, I did the plaster first  I then painted it grey and did black felt on the trim, I wanted it to be darker so I did another layer and added in black paint.
